MY WHY - THE FUEL FOR COACHING WOMEN
I am an advocate for healthy relationships. I am particularly interested in supporting women to be more self-aware, self-possessed, and self-reliant. Resilient and thriving women knowing they are creative, resourceful, and whole! Wherever women find themselves and whatever challenges they face; as their coach, I want to contribute to their personal and career development, their sense of agency, resilience, and ability to be their BEST when it matters the most.
Women-At-Their-Best™ Wellness Coaching is a program that developed out of my desire to support women at any age to resolve to evolve themselves and their relationship wellness with friends, co-workers, children of any age, extended family, their spouses and significant others. I coach women to manage and achieve recovery and success in the face of life's greatest challenges. Both self-determined and unexpected or unwanted change are furtive fields for self-development and growth. Wellness includes general health, stress management, nervous system and emotional regulation, good mental hygiene, physical fitness, career, healthy parenting, social connectedness, intimacy and healthy communication, and family dynamics including divorce and uncoupling.
DIVORCE WELLNESS COACHING
As a divorce survivor, I'm always in support of doing what we can to improve relationships before we call it quits. Especially because I know that divorce with children usually requires a continuation instead of an end to interacting with your spouse. Your behavior during the process can set the stage for worse rather than better interactions with your former spouse. It's amazing how impactful your choice to be your best even if your spouse is at their worst can be!
Although I am NOT an advocate for divorce, I received professional training for this very specific support because families deserve family transitions which are less costly and traumatizing. Recent research shows that women are much more likely to be the initiators of a divorce. When women decide divorce or separation is the only path toward her own and her family's greater wellness, support is crucial for being their best amidst the understandable overwhelm at the emotional, social, financial, and legal aspects of divorce. I believe that when women can be their best during the divorce process, they are more likely to avoid lengthy litigative divorce processes allowing them to recover and move forward into the next chapter of their lives. Big change and the insight and growth it can inspire represents a transitional opportunity to learn and improve how we do relationship.
As a Certified Divorce Coach (CDC), I offer women comprehensive support for organizing and preparing themselves for their divorce process. Rather than an advisor, I serve as a sounding board and strategic thinking partner in service of them being their best throughout the process. The work together is both internal and personal. Coaching helps a woman stay engaged productively and positively with her divorce process. I work with women at any stage and throughout their divorce process whether we begin our work when they are considering, engaged in a divorce process, or recovering and launching a next chapter post-divorce. Most women don't know much about how the family laws of their state and some are unfamiliar with the financial side of their married life. As your coach, I know what a woman ought to know so she can avoid costly and long-lasting mistakes. Knowing one's options as early as possible and establishing practical, emotional, and social support greatly enhances a woman's ability to weather the storm of divorce, make savvy decisions, and grow through instead of just white knuckle it through the process. My expertise is supporting women to be think and be strategic for the best outcomes possible.

WHO I SERVE
I am passionate about supporting young women early in their careers and significant relationships to know their worth, make decisions that promote wellness, and to advocate effectively for equal and equitable treatment at work and in relationships. Many women, regardless of their age, experience confusion between co-dependence and healthy interdependence. My hope is that young women of today don't have to spend their entire lives struggling to know and communicate their worth and advocate for their best interests. The earlier we learn to identify our unique talent strengths as well as clarify our relationship needs, wants, and deal breakers, as well as, honor our life values, the sooner we will operate at our best and thrive no matter what life brings our way.
That being said, I am equally passionate about supporting the self-discovery, self-determination, and self-empowerment of women who have struggled to establish relationship wellness. Later in life, we can feel even more vulnerable when we experience a need to relocate, change or launch a new career due to lay-offs, relationship conflict, death of a spouse, separation, or divorce. Babyboomer women may have spent many years deferring their financial and retirement preparedness to their spouse or significant other only to discover their financial future is not secure.
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH DIVORCE
I've experienced divorce after two long marriages one with and one without children. I've experienced high-conflict in co-parenting, infidelity, deceit, marital waste, and inadequate preparedness for my financial future. I've also had positive experiences with divorce coaching, financial planning for divorce and retirement (CDFA), and individual and family counseling to recover from the pain and disruption of divorce. My relationship wellness coaching toolkit includes a unique blend of health, relationship, conflict-resolution, and divorce-specific trainings over three decades and hundreds of hours of client wellness coaching experience. MY WORK AND RELATIONSHIP JOURNEY
My name is Deb Jordan and I am Principal and Founder of Be-The-Change Coaching, LLC and Program Director of the Women-At-Their-Best™ Relationship Wellness Coaching Program. I transitioned into coaching work in 2012 after a decades-long career as a yoga studio entrepreneur and instructor of mind-body wellness. Even then my success was largely due serving women in my community through my premier prenatal and postpartum baby and me programs.
Before working in the wellness field, I chose to stay home with my first son for several years. Prior to beginning a family, I worked full-time in management, training, sales, and business administration within the retail, healthcare, and computer industries. After beginning a family, I sought entrepreneurial work in wellness and lifestyle education for its flexibility which supported my personal sense of wellbeing and how I wanted to experience family life. This especially served me well after my children's father and I divorced.
LIFELONG LEARNER
I am a lifelong learner who enjoys a network of business and self-development support from mentors and coaches. My formal education includes an undergraduate degree in Communication and a Master of Science in Leadership. I am an active member in good standing with the International Coach Federation (ICF). In addition, to operating in alignment with the ICF code of ethics, I am a credentialed professional with the following organizations which require I maintain ethical practices and engage in continuing education: National Board of Health & Wellness Coaches (NBHWC), Certified Divorce Coach Board of Standards (CDC), and as a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach.
My clients also receive the benefits of my multiple trainings in conflict resolution facilitation advanced by Arbinger Institute (Anatomy of Peace, Self-Deception & Leadership, & Outward Mindset), Non-Violent or Compassionate Communication, RealLove, as well as facilitator trainings for Restorative Community Circles and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) events.
HEALTH & WELLNESS COACHING
I am proud to be a member of the first cohort to pass the National Board's Health & Wellness Coaches (NBHWC) 4-hour certification exam in 2017. My coaching approach is influenced by the fundamentals of Appreciative Inquiry, Arbinger Institute's work, Brene Brown's work, Co-Active Coaching & Leadership, Emotional and Social Intelligence, Gallup's CliftonStrengths34 talent-based self-discovery technology, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, Prochaska's Stages of Readiness for Change, and Intentional Change Theory (Boyatzis). I have developed workshops, courses, and programs to help individuals achieve success including Vision-in-Action™, Wellbeing at Work™, and Women-At-Their-Best™ coaching and educational programs.
I express my passion for coaching as a profession through my written works. I seek to continually support and share recent research finding and developments within the coaching profession, mentoring other coaches, and participating in peer coaching and group mentoring through Reciprocoach.
LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
After years in management and owning my own business, I developed a passion for consensus-building and shared leadership during five years of service as a constituency leader within a non-profit organization after it flattened its structure and distributed leadership across three existing constituencies and throughout a large volunteer workforce.
While there I served as a regional representative and a member of an international non-profit leadership council serving constituents as a leadership mentor, advisor, and recruiter for emerging leaders. I collaborated with other emerging leaders to improve licensing & credentialing, develop a clear code of ethics, and update her constituency's training and leadership development efforts. I was proud to be a leader in establishing a shared leadership team approach to the design and production of a recurring annual constituency conference to identify and empower emerging leaders, provide social connection, as well as, provide continuing professional education. I enjoyed leading three annual conference planning and production teams in Albuquerque, Denver, and Las Vegas in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
